04 If I used SoR I'd do less threat with my gear and setup

SoR does a straight 62 damage, where as SoBlood does 65-85, can crit and procs additional threat from Judgment of Wisdom.

Switch out Sun Eater with (WoW Gold)something like Continuum Blade or Greatsword of Horrid Dreams and both SoRighteousness and Consecrate will generate more threat, but you lose out on tanking stats.

It's a case of balance, and let's be honest - What use is more threat when you already generate enough (WoW Gold)to out threat the top DPSers? People keep saying paladins need spelldamage to tank - That is incorrect. Both Horde and Alliance paladins can out-aggro a warrior with low spelldamage if they create their builds accordingly.

With 2.1.0 it does look like SoRighteousness will help paladin tanks massacre the threat meters, but the buffs to 1handed weapon spec also look like like they'll help low spelldamage builds.

As I said at the start of my (WoW Gold)guide, it's your own choice. You have to make the choices. Unlike warriors, there's no "cookie cutter" paladin tank build - You can make your own weird and wonderful builds and still be 100% viable to tank as the next warrior/druid. There's no point passing on Moroes' Lucky Pocket Watch because you're scared you'll lose a bit of spelldamage in your trinket slot when you over-aggro'ed the main tank during the fight and had to hold back your threat. Then again, if you find yourself having problems holding aggro on DPS in raids, perhaps it's time to do some Black Morass heroics and hope for the paladin tanking belt to beef up your spelldamage, or switch in a +holy damage Libram to pump up your threat per second - Perhaps even alter your spec entirely.

This is a guide to tell paladins what to expect, nudge them towards making their own informed decisions - What works for you may not work for someone else.
